    CHAPTER REVIEW
Viewers get to watch New England Catching Camp founder Dave Weaver give a clinic. Filmed at the Play Ball training center in Salem, New Hampshire, Weaver addresses every aspect of the catcher position. His captivating dialogue is reinforced with demonstrations and drills performed by youth catchers from his camps.

Among the items covered in detail, Weaver shows the techniques that allow catchers to keep strikes looking like strikes (helping both pitchers and umpires) without resorting to any trickery. Weaver explains why an improper set-up (stance) causes catchers to have trouble throwing the ball accurately.

A sampling of other items this DVD covers include:
Dave Weaver catching instruction  * The 3 stances all catchers need to know
     * Blocking pitches to prevent passed balls
     * Proper handling of balls that do get past the catcher
     * Proper footwork and arm positioning when throwing
     * Fielding bunts and pop ups
     * How and where to stand for balls thrown to home plate

Coach Weaver will answer every question you've ever had about the catching position in the most informative DVD ever produced on the subject.

    Coach JP's Baseball Tips Review

    Coach JP Says:
Coach JP review There are not many instructional videos (or DVDs for that matter) made for training catchers. This new release (volume #2) from the New England Catching Camp fills that void and nails it completely.

Head instructor Dave Weaver not only discusses and demonstrates the many details of the position, he proves his solid instruction by utilizing eight youth catchers from age 9 through High School Varsity in all aspects of this tape.including a pair of younger fastpitch girls that any JV male youth pitcher would be privileged to throw to.proof of what a solid building block approach will do for any age or gender ballplayer!

Building blocks are the key to developing great catchers and seeing 9-year olds instinctively know what so many older catchers are clueless about speaks volumes for this man and this DVD.

If you invest in this DVD for only one of its in depth sections (receiving, blocking, fielding or throwing) it is absolutely worth the price.and the remaining 3 chapters are nothing short of a FREE bonus.

My main recommendation is to watch it in sections (chapters) as it does get long and there is so much to learn. No frills.just good stuff that any level of coach or age of player can benefit from.
    I guarantee it!

    Coach's Testimonials

Joe Lindley, Director of the New England Little League Coaches' Clinic
A Coaches Guide to Training Catchers, Volume II, by Dave Weaver is simply the finest catcher's training DVD on the market today. Dave takes the art of catching to a level few coaches are able to reach during their regular season. His techniques not only teach players how to become great catchers, they teach catchers how to become great leaders. As a head high school coach and director of New England's largest Little League coaches' clinic I have not found anyone who compares when it comes to knowledge and passion for the catcher's position.

Tim Creamer, Head Coach at Melrose High School (MA)
Coach Weaver is teaching players how to be the best defensive catchers in their respective leagues. His drills were in depth but easy to understand. With repeated practice, these drills lead a catcher to have FAR fewer passed balls, accurate and consistent throws, and a pitcher with full confidence in his backstop.

Catching is an extremely underrated and under-coached position. Every coach, from T-Ball to College, would do well to learn how to develop a catcher from Coach Weaver. With the DVD coaches can replay drills and images for a more complete understanding.

A solid catcher is a leader on the field that a team can be built around. Any coach that desires to have full confidence in their catcher should buy the DVD.
