What I've Learned From Baseball by Coach John Peter
The game of baseball is infinitely more complex than most give it credit for. Most that I have learned about baseball is common sense.but each lesson took someone with more common sense than I to point it out.
Coaching
Teach proper mechanics, and then get your players to do the same thing over and over and over again.
Pitching
Pitchers and catchers should sit together in the dugout, especially after the first inning.
Hitting
When a pitcher is struggling, look for the first strike you see. Why? Because a struggling pitcher doesn't want to get behind in the count!
Defense
Without quick hands, an infielder becomes.an outfielder.
Without quick feet, an infielder becomes. an outfielder.

    Baseball's Believe It or Not
Joe DiMaggio once exclaimed, "I'd like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee." Actually, he should have thanked the Chicago Cubs, who had the opportunity to purchase DiMaggio but declined because they were worried about a knee injury that he had suffered while getting out of a car in 1934. Two years later DiMaggio joined the Yankees, where he would win 9 World Series titles in 13 seasons, including a 1938 Series sweep of the Cubbies. Long remembered for his 56-game hitting streak in 1941, Joltin' Joe also made headlines in 1949 when he signed the first $100,000 contract in MLB history. Today, baseball's minimum salary is $200,000.
