I have been actively looking for a top flight pitching video on DVD directed at both youth coaches and their players. The author, Doug Bochtler, an 8 season Major League pitcher along with Big Leaguers Justin Wayne and Sean Bergman, got it right!
When I preview videos, I am viewing it for the first time, just as you will. I am looking for an organized presentation, strong content displayed in a "building block" approach, good production values and enough visual tricks and imagery to enhance and reinforce major teaching points without becoming an annoyance.
These guys spent the time & money that it takes in order to simplify a very difficult pursuit, that of teaching pitch types and the mechanics to throw them correctly.
They utilize close ups, slow motion, freeze frame as well as some great side-by-side video displays of the correct mechanics of professional pitchers in split screen with the faults of typical youth players of various ages.
I highly recommend this fine work and will guarantee its quality. I also recommend that you consider the combo package of this DVD along with the fine book called the Picture Perfect Pitcher. This book also shows some of today's great pitchers displaying perfect mechanics, using some top flight photos that really drive teaching points home. easily!

About the Pitchers
Doug Bochtler
is the host. He played 15 years of professional baseball, six at the Major League level (1995-2000). Doug spent all of his big league career pitching out of the bullpen for the Padres, Tigers, Dodgers and Royals. Having worked with over 40 different pitching coaches he has honed in on what makes pitchers better.
Sean Bergman
performs the pitching. He is an eight year veteran of the Major Leagues (1993-2000) and has had the privilege of working under some of the best pitching coaches in the world. Sean pitched primarily as a starter for the Tigers, Padres, Astros and Twins.
Justin Wayne
also helps out in the DVD. He was a first round draft pick in 2000 by the Montreal Expos out of Stanford University and has pitched for three years with the Florida Marlins.
