Our 360 Degree Woody
A Wood Bat With A 30-Day No-Break Warranty!
Wait to you see what we've got for you!
Great pop, great balance and one tough bat to break!
You can even hit on any part of this bat. No worries about where the trademark is or hitting with the label up or label down as with almost every other wood bat (This helps with the less experienced wood bat hitters who are not used to worrying about such things).
Let me tell you about my first 360-degree woody composite bat.
I have had my 33" -3 oz. version for over 3 years and have put it in the hands of a lot of players. Free swingers, players with no wood bat experience, and High School prospects with tremendous bat speed.
As of right now, it is truly the ugliest bat in my arsenal (mostly because it has been hit thousands of times and over such a long period of time). I have even left it in the garage for two of those years (a bad idea).
It does have a hairline fracture at the end of the barrel.
But it just keeps on ticking.A solid feel with great pop!
Do I recommend them? .Absolutely!
Who do I recommend them for? . Actually there is not one, but many types of players and teams which I feel can really benefit and improve just by working with this stick. Mostly any players except those advanced players and prospects that actually make money at this game or perhaps college players who hit with wood full-time (and even they can always use a dependable "cage bat").
HERE'S SOME USEFUL INFO
1st realize that hitting with a wood bat requires some adjustment. You have a smaller hitting area (sweet spot) than those over-blown, ridiculously expensive, cheating aluminum bats that amateur players are allowed to swing with (But, you bet I will win with aluminum.lol)!
2nd is the balance and weight drop of wood when compared with aluminum. Wood bats tend to be "head heavy," weigh more, and have weight that is dispersed differently than what youth players currently use. Don't forget that the barrel diameter is probably less than the aluminum players now swing as well.
And The Good News Is.
You train with wood.and you will flat out become a better "aluminum" hitter.
The reasons basically lie in what is written in the paragraphs above.
Because you have a smaller sweet spot in which to make solid contact, you learn to be more selective. Remember, everyone from Ted Williams on down says.First you have to get a pitch to hit!.and hitting the ball with authority is what we are trying to do!
Learn The Strike Zone!
This means no more swinging at junk. You train with wood and you quickly learn the consequences of hitting bad pitches, pitcher's pitches, and pitches out of the strike zone. even more so in cold weather.IT HURTS! IT STINGS!
And wood bats can become expensive firewood if you swing at enough junk.
Remember that 70 percent of all wood bats break when balls are hit off the end of the bat (though the break will tend to show up in the thinner handle area).
This Game Is About Quickness!
If you want batting success, develop a short, quick stroke!
Bat speed is huge! Because wood bats tend to weigh a bit more than aluminum and be a bit more head-heavy, you have to start your hands a bit sooner (remember that hands ALWAYS start the swing.technically it is hands and the front knee hinge).
When the pitcher breaks (separates) his hands in the middle of his delivery, good hitters will load up, trigger, coil or whatever your terminology is to describe beginning the rhythm of your swing.
Hitting Is Timing & Balance!
This generally involves the hands working their way toward the back shoulder; I like something in the 4-8 inch range of motion. This loading will break the inertia, making the bat feel lighter and adding a rhythm/timing device that really does help a batter succeed. After all, hitting is timing and balance. pitching is the destruction of that timing and balance (That's why the change-up is so deadly)!
In Summary
The bottom line is that learning to hit with wood is a great way to train.
It takes some practice and the results of making mistakes can be physically painful stinging hands and a small mountain of broken bats.
Our New 360 degree Woody will at very least save you some money in the long haul in that they are just so hard to break.
